On August 21, 2023, the Jianggang Higher Vocational Education High Quality Development Exchange Conference was successfully held at the National Postdoctoral Innovation (Jiangmen) Demonstration Center. Leaders, experts, and business representatives from higher vocational colleges and professional organizations in Jianggang and Jianggang gathered together to discuss new ideas and methods in vocational education, and provide suggestions for promoting the development of higher vocational education.

More than 50 leaders and guests attended the event, including the Jiangmen Talent Work Bureau, Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau, Education Bureau, Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Health Bureau, Donghua College, Hong Kong College of Higher Education and Technology, Hong Kong Food Commission, Jiangmen Vocational and Technical College, Guangdong Jiangmen Vocational College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangdong Jiangmen Preschool Teachers College, Jiangmen Yatus Vocational and Technical School, Jiangmen Central Hospital, Jiangmen Wuyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Jiangmen Third People's Hospital, Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Business Association, Guangdong Aobai Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangmen Yaxun Information Technology Co., Ltd., and others. This exchange meeting was guided by the Jiangmen Talent Work Bureau and the Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau, and hosted by the Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Business Association, Guangdong Aobai Technology Co., Ltd., and Jiangmen Yaxun Information Technology Co., Ltd. The activity aims to strengthen the connection between higher vocational education in Jiangmen and Hong Kong, and promote the landing of more excellent further education exchange and internship projects in Jiangmen.

At the meeting, Donghua College, Hong Kong Institute of Higher Education and Technology, and Hong Kong Food Commission signed cooperation agreements with Jiangmen Vocational and Technical College, Guangdong Jiangmen Vocational College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangdong Jiangmen Preschool Teachers College, Jiangmen Yates Vocational and Technical School, Jiangmen Central Hospital, Jiangmen Wuyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Jiangmen Third People's Hospital, respectively. They will jointly explore new models of cooperation and docking, strengthen cooperation and exchange in industries, education, technology, talent, and other aspects.

Our President Feng Guangyuan warmly welcomes the arrival of all leaders and guests. In his speech, he stated that Jiangmen and Hong Kong are geographically close and have close social relationships. With the implementation and promotion of the national "14th Five Year Plan" and the "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan", the interaction and cultural exchange between the two regions in education and professional fields continue to develop, with closer exchanges and closer cooperation. Dr. Du Siyuan emphasized in his introduction of the cooperation between Hong Kong universities, professional organizations, and Jiangmen University that a strong education leads to a strong country. He said that Jiangmen is adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao, with a unique geographical location and a developed industrial foundation in traditional Chinese medicine, food, and home appliances, with huge development potential; Hong Kong has high-quality educational resources and a broad international perspective. Joint education between the two regions will achieve complementary advantages and resource sharing, creating a win-win situation. Therefore, we hope to fully leverage the role of talent as a bridge and link, and contribute to the steady progress of cooperation and development in the field of education in Jianggang.

Academician Chen Huici, President of Donghua College, introduced that in order to promote deepening higher education exchanges between Jiangmen and Hong Kong, Donghua College has signed agreements with three higher vocational colleges in Jiangmen City, specifically implementing joint talent training programs such as course docking and credit recognition, and promoting in-depth cooperation in the education field between Jiangmen and Hong Kong. In addition, Donghua College has signed cooperation agreements with Jiangmen Central Hospital, Jiangmen Wuyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Jiangmen Third People's Hospital to explore cooperation in continuous professional education, research sharing, and medical talent training, promote more exchange and internship projects between the two places, and improve the medical professional level in Hong Kong and mainland China.

Academician Liu Jiande, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Higher Education and Technology, said, "The Hong Kong Institute of Higher Education and Technology can effectively connect with Jiangmen in different professional fields, such as traditional Chinese medicine, food safety, intelligent manufacturing, digital technology, etc. We have a lot of room for cooperation. In the future, we hope to jointly build an education center and technology center here, which will be jointly constructed by Hong Kong and Jiangmen.".
